The SLD Soccer school has been set up by Moving Matters, to support the development of young footballers. Our vision is to establish a soccer school which players look forward to attending and where a supportive environment is created for the children to learn and enjoy their football development.
Players have the opportunity to train and develop technical ability, gameplay, decision making and attitude to progress and improve.
We run two programmes at The Elmgreen: multi-ability and elite.
Our multi-ability programme is open to boys and girls from reception age to year 6 and we run two sessions each week, Monday evening and Saturday morning.
Our Elite programme is now until it's second full season. We train players from year 1-6 on a Monday or Wednesday evening. We hope to progress players onto higher level opportunities within academy programmes or find the right pathway for their development. Our Elite programme involves games against other soccer schools or professional academies.
So far this year 3 of our players have been on trial with Charlton FC and 1 was signed.

We now offer a full week's soccer camp every school holiday. At the camp, we develop a range of skills throughout the week see below. Every day we want the children to learn and develop new skills, so the coaching is varied. We focus on ensuring the players have lots of touches of the ball in a fun and engaging environment. We focus on small sided football, group and individual competitions.
Here is the weekly focus:
Monday: Ball mastery, dribbling and running with the ball
Penalty competition and keep up challenge
Tuesday: Passing and retaining possession
Crossbar challenge and hit the zone
Wednesday: Shooting and 1-1 finishing
Thursday: Goalkeeping and Futsal tournament
Bounce, bounce volley
Friday: Football tennis, football cricket, football golf and football rounders

Our SLD Monday, Wednesday and Saturday sessions will be back in September.
