BIO: Rob is the owner and director of Moving Matters. A University of York graduate, he has over 14 years experience of primary PE teaching. Rob is hugely experienced and knowledgeable in PE and School Sport and over the years he has advised government ministers, trained hundreds of teachers and NQTs and delivered projects for Nike UK and local authorities.

Rob's pathway into school sport began working with a UK wide franchise before he took up a role with the Lambeth School Sports Partnership as the Director of Coaching. He took over as Partnership Development Manager in 2010, where he oversaw the last months of public funding for SSPs. Moving Matters was set up in 2011 and now works with over 50 schools in London, Surrey and Wiltshire.

Rob has always loved playing a range of sports (rugby, tennis, golf) but football is his passion and he played at a semi-professional level for over 10 years. 




 Jamilla Khaoui

BIO: Jamila is Moving Matter's wonderful administrator. She is half French, half Moroccan and so contributes some exceptional culinary delights to the Moving Matters office. Despite sitting behind a desk, she is the fittest person in the team, regularly competing in tough mudders and other extremely difficult endurance events. Jamila is currently training for the 2018 London Marathon.

BIO: Anna graduated from the Academy of Physical Education in Wroclaw Poland with BA(hons) in Education specialising in Sport Science.Since moving to the UK in 2000, Anna has done what she loves best and that is sports and fitness; coordinating spinning classes, aqua fit and teaching swimming.

Anna has been with Moving Matters for more than 3 years now and is growing ever stronger in her role as a Primary PE Specialist. In her spare time if she is not swimming then she is cycling and loves dancing too and has recently completed her ZUMBA and ZUMBA KIDS/JRN instructor training.

Anna is our longest serving member of staff, as she started with us in February 2014. She specialises in Gymnastics and Dance.

Testimony: "Before working with Anna ,I wasn't comfortable teaching gymnastics but she has shown me the basics and now I can grow because of her help and add my own style. Thanks."

 Mat Hayman

BIO: Matthew is a graduate of Northumbria University where he studied a BA (hons) Sports Development with Coaching. He is also a level 2 Rugby Union coach along with many other qualifications including a level 2 in Dodgeball!

Matthew started with Moving Matters August 2014, after making the switch from working as a Health Coach in primary schools in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Matthew has a passion for sport and education and specialises in Rugby both coaching and playing competitively for London Scotish.

Matt specialises in tag-rugby.

 James Hotson

BIO: James is a graduate from the University of Winchester, with a BA (Hons) in Leisure Management. Upon graduation, James set up Play Sports UK, an organisation which collaborated with different partner’s, including schools, School Sports Partnerships and local authorities to get more children participating in physical activity. 

James has extensive experience of teaching primary PE, having worked in numerous schools across Hampshire, Buckinghamshire and London. A big sports fan, James previously represented Hampshire in football at youth level and enjoys playing tennis, taking his dog for long walks and still playing the occasional game of football.

A Moving Matters employee since October 2014, James is the lead for Short breaks in Lambeth (Moving Matter's disability programme).

Testimony: "It has been an absolute pleasure working with James. Coming from a PE background myself I have really enjoyed the discussions and sharing of knowledge. Having another person who is an expert in PE to bounce ideas off has been invaluable for me. James is an excellent PE teacher. I have learned so much from him."

BIO: Jenny is from Ireland and has been involved in sports her whole life. She relocated from Ireland to continue to spread her love for sports and to share the importance of being active.

In continuing to learn she obtained a Masters in Sports Psychology, with research focused in the area of physical activity and youth.  Jenny is an exceptional Basketball coach and coached at international level, travelling across the world with her players.  

She competed at basketball for Ireland throughout my youth and she continue to play competitively in London. I have been coaching basketball at international level since 2010 and have seen most of the world through these ventures.

Employed at Moving Matters since February 2015, Jenny was promoted to Senior Primary PE Specialist in September 2016 and leads on Competitions and Holiday camps.

BIO: Emily moved back from Cardiff in May 2016 to join the Moving Matters team. In Cardiff she studied Sport and Physical Education (BSc) and completed a PGCE in Primary Education specialising in P.E.

After working in a primary school as a classroom teacher for 2 years, she decided return to her passion, teaching PE.

Sport has been an influential and exciting part of her life over many years and she love to share this passion with others!She's a level 2 aquatics and swimming coach and has competed in many different sports including swimming, water polo, triathlon and rowing. Her proudest moment was representing her country.

Emily now leads on curriculum development for Moving Matters.

Testimony: "All staff that have worked with Emily this term have said how helpful and beneficial they have found the Professional development service. A number of staff have commented on how much more confident they feel delivering gymnastics! "

BIO: Conor started with Moving Matters as an apprentice and has been succesful in graduating to the role of Primary PE Specialist.

A local boy, Conor was born and raised in Lambeth and so all the schools he works in are local and familiar. He is looking to develop his career in PE teaching and Sports coaching, whilst helping to educate young people on the importance of being and staying active.

He's played many sports over the years but particularly loves football and American football. Most recently Conor has been trying his hand at hurling! 

Conor is a massive Crystal Palace fan and follows them as much as he can home and away.


Primary PE Specialist

BIO: George is a graduate from the University of East Anglia with a BA in Physical Education and Sport.

He completed his FA Level 1 course in 2011 and started coaching for the first time with a local football club called AFC Lewisham in 2012. He has since completed his FA Level 2 course and Youth Module 1. He developed his coaching experience by spending 4 summers in the USA, working at football and kids camps.

George started working as a part-time sports coach in primary schools during his gap year  and has been working full time as a primary school PE teacher since January 2017. 

Sport has always been his passion, and as someone educated and brought up in South London, he enjoys working in schools in the area I grew up. He's driven to inspire young people to take up sport and to develop their skills.

George is a keen sportsman and currently plays semi-professional football in the Kent league.

He became a Primary PE Specialist with Moving Matters in October 2017 and is now the U10s coach for the SLD Elite group.

BIO:  Levi is a graduate from the University of East London with a (BA) hons in Media and Creative Industry. Upon graduating he split his time between freelancing for independent record labels whilst working on his own music.

He's played sports his whole life and his passion is football. He's recently taken the steps to further expand his knowledge and skills, by completing an FA level 1 in football coaching.

He's passionate about promoting health and wellbeing amongst children and firmly believe physical education is key to developing and shaping the lives of young people in the most positive way.

Joining the team in January 2018 as an apprentice of the Moving Matters team, he's excited to establish a new career in an environment he cares about PE and School Sport.






Primary PE Specialist

 Adam Barnard

BIO: Adam has a passion for sports and working with children. He has represented England schools and played professional rugby.  He has extensive experience coaching and teaching children in England, New Zealand and New York. He believes sport can provide fantastic opportunities for young people and creates a positive environment which starts from a young age. 

In addition to his role with Moving Mattters, Adam is a coach for National 1 rugby side, Cambridge RFC.

Adam joined the team in August 2016 and he is a tag-rugby specialist.

Testimony: "Adam is excellent to have around the school and everyone who works with him has been very impressed with the content of his lessons and his manner with the children."
