I am concerned about the safety of my child at camp this October.

We have carefully planned camp this summer, with safety of children and staff as paramount. Our risk assessment provides more detail and can be found below, you can also find our guidance video on You Tube, just select this link

The bubble system we have introduced, is in line with government guidelines which has been followed by schools since June 1st. We have supported schools through this period and our staff are experienced at operating in this way. By keeping 1 group of children (bubble) together for all 4 days at camp during a week, we are restricting the contact with other children and adults. We have numerous measures in place to ensure child safety and will constantly review and update procedures according to guidelines and our experiences at camp.

When does camp run?

October 26th- October 29th

Are you an Ofsted camp registered?
Our camp at The Elmgreen school is Ofsted registered, number EY485421.

What time is registration and collection?
This October 2020 we have different start and finish times due to the global Covid - 19 pandemic.

Can I know more about your staff?
All Moving Matters staff are Primary PE Specialists, working in local schools teaching Physical Education. They are leading industry professionals with a wide range of qualifications and experience delivering to primary aged children across the curriculum. All staff are DBS checked, first aid and child protection trained. Each camp has a Camp Director who is in charge of overseeing the administration, staffing and running of the day. Any issues can be discussed with the Camp Director at the beginning or end of the day. You can get to the know the team better by looking at our meet the team page

Do you have a behaviour management procedure?
Yes we do, at Moving Matters we believe in the importance of mutual respect between children and adults at camp, children are made aware of these expectations at the beginning of the camp day. We focus on positive reinforcement to manage challenging behaviour and we manage children's behaviour in the same way we would within the school environment. We reserve the right to exclude a child if consistently challenging behaviour is displayed at camp.

What will my child be doing at camp?

This summer camp will be operating differently due to the bubble model. Children will remain in their bubble all day, doing a variety of activities during that time.

We have a morning, lunch and afternoon break.

During the day we have 4 different activity sessions at each of the Mini Movers, SLD soccer and Play Create Move camps

During breaks children can have a refreshment and take part in any of our break time activities. This summer each bubble will have their own equipment to use during breaks but children are encouraged to bring in games themselves.

  • Card games
  • Table-tennis
  • Board games
  • Jenga
  • Speed stacking cups, and much more
  • Colouring sheets

What to bring on the day:

  • Wear comfortable trainers
  • Sports appropriate clothing
  • Weather appropriate clothing
  • Food for break and lunchtimes throughout the day
  • Labelled water bottle
  • Labelled sports equipment; table-tennis bat, tennis racket, football etc
