Magic Murray
Andy Murray comes back from 2 sets down for record 11th time in Australian Open epic.

In the space of five hours and 45 minutes, Andy Murray fans went through every emotion with the legendary British Tennis player. Murray found himself down 5-2 in the third set, with his opponent Thanasi Kokkinaki just two points away from a win in straight sets after an hour. Having complained about the flatness of the ball and the long, gruelling conditions he was playing in, Murray dug deep and prevailed over the next four hours, leading to a record breaking 11th comeback from two sets down. This was the longest match of his career, and sporting an artificial hip, Andy showed why his legend continues to grow in the sport of tennis. His hard work, persistence and love for his sport are hugely respected by us all at Moving Matters, great values that so many young people can learn from. It’s A Bit Nippy Out! |
|
One of our company values is to “Be Remarkable” which means that we aim to go the extra mile to achieve outstanding service. With the recent weather conditions affecting travel and outside play, many of our lessons this term have taken place inside. At this time of year our curriculum map focuses on Dance and Gymnastics, indoor activities which are an important element of a broad and balanced PE curriculum. In addition our staff are adept at managing a range of activities in the generally small hall spaces they have access to. No matter the weather, PE must always go ahead and we’ll always make the best of the space we have to work with. We are however looking forward to warmer conditions and our preference is to get children outdoors for PE, to gain that invaluable vitamin D. |

Last Thursday, we hosted a Dodgeball event which saw 18 schools compete in an amazing day of competition at Brixton Rec Centre. All schools battled it out over 4 courts, with the semi-finalists being Richard Atkins, Fenstanton, Elm Wood and Van Gogh. Elm Wood beat Van Gogh 2-1 in a tightly contested match, in the first semi finals and Fenstanton beat Richard Atkins 2-0 in the other semi finals match, which continued their dominance having not lost a game until the finals. The finals saw Elm Wood ultimately winning the tournament by giving Fenstanton their first loss in a 2-1 result. Elm Wood’s Ciaran won our Player of the Tournament award for his heroic effort on the winning team. |

It’s been an exciting start to the academic year, with new staff and new schools. We’ve also been successful in procuring new contracts with existing and new schools. If anything we offer appeals, do get in touch, we’d love to increase the number of member schools we work with. Bringing our mission statement to as many young children as possible has always been our ethos, and this year we will pursue this even further. “We provide children with positive, active, learning experiences” The button below is a link to our available services range for the 22/23 academic year, for your viewing pleasure. If you are interested in bringing any of these services to your school, feel free to get in contact with us: |
