Moving Matters

End of November Edition

World Cup Celebrations

Albeit a very controversial World Cup, the first week of matches have been entertaining to say the least. With Japan and Saudi Arabia pulling off equally impressive 2-1 upsets over Germany and Argentina respectively, to Spain’s mauling of Costa Rica on Wednesday, no result feels as special as England’s 6-2 victory over Iran.

With a highly-competitive fixture against USA coming up later today, we are very excited to watch our Three Lions progress in this World Cup.

On the 21st November, some of our member schools participated in a World Cup celebration which saw our Primary PE Specialists leading assemblies on the history of the world cup, and small football sessions with classes in their school.

What’s On Offer 2022-23…

It’s been an exciting start to the academic year, with new staff and new schools. We’ve also been successful in procuring new contracts with existing and new schools.

If anything we offer appeals, do get in touch, we’d love to increase the number of member schools we work with.

Bringing our mission statement to as many young children as possible has always been our ethos, and this year we will pursue this even further.

“We provide children with positive, active, learning experiences”

Year 6 Swimming Gala @ Streatham Leisure Centre

Thursday November 24th 2022

On Thursday we hosted our year 6 swimming gala. Overall we had over 150 swimmers from 14 different schools in Lambeth and Wandsworth. All day there was a real buzz as children were cheered on by their friends, teachers & parents.

Whilst there was some lightning quick times, the most pleasing thing was seeing everyone really enjoy their swimming and the competition. We hope the experience inspires individuals to improve their swimming and swim for the rest of their lives.

Whilst we could not provide all the results of this competition (they are currently being collated), we want to give a huge thank you to all 12 schools who attended and the phenomenal performance from Elm Wood Primary.

Next Competition – Year 5 & 6 Dodgeball (Jan 19th 2023)

@ Brixton Rec Centre

Our attendance numbers for our two most recent competitions (Y4-6 Girls Football & Y6 Swim) have both been fully-booked, and we are looking to continue in that trend with our first competition of 2023.

We currently have 16 schools booked in for Year 5-6 Dodgeball and have space for four more schools.

The curriculum contains:

We often get enquiries about how this works and the video below provides a clear understanding of what this service is and how to access it:
